Feng Shui governs the flow of energy in a room. The goal of most people who use Feng Shui is to create a balance in the room that they are applying these techniques in. The thing is, there is no single way to achieve this goal. In other words, you won’t find a diagram telling you exactly how your bedroom should look, because your goals may be slightly different than someone else and most rooms have different layouts and aspects.
The first thing that you want to consider with your Feng Shui Bedroom Layout is the position of your bed. There are a couple of things that you need to look at. First of all, you don’t want your bed to interfere with the flow of chi in your bedroom. As such, you need to ensure that the bed is not placed between the bedroom door and any windows that are in sight of the bedroom door. for many rooms this can be difficult, which is why soft and luxurious curtains may be needed to prevent the interruption of flow.
You will also want to place your bed in such a way that it welcomes a partner into your room. Don’t put your bed behind any doors or underneath a window if it can be helped. Your bed should be placed in a command position to show that it has importance in your bedroom. There should be equal space on either side from the bed to the walls. You also need to ensure that if you provide equal importance to each side of the bed, even if you are single. Putting a bedside table on both sides of the bed is a way to achieve this goal.
You should avoid having a mirror directly across from the bed; in fact, you shouldn’t have any mirrors in your room at all if they can be seen from the bed. If your dresser has a mirror, then cover it up when you sleep, otherwise you are welcoming trouble in your relationship.
By some, colors are considered more important than your Feng Shui Bedroom Layout. Using black, orange and red in your room will encourage mystery, power and passion in your space. However, all of these colors should be use in moderation as too much can cause anger and resentment. A good way to feature these is with cushions or throws.
The position of these colors is important as well. Black should be placed in the North, East or South East, orange in the East or South East and red should only be used as small accents on the bed. Never use water features in your bedroom as water is a cooling element and reduces passion in the bedroom!
